Tiffany Barker

Tiffany is a Utah native who grew up playing sports and singing.  She earned a D1 basketball scholarship to Utah State University and then graduated from BYU with a degree in broadcast journalism.  In college, she worked as a rodeo interview reporter and would sing for the entertainment between interviewing the cowboys. Immediately upon graduation, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee and spent a few years out there traveling the country and performing with many different bands.  Tiffany has sang professionally since she was 18 and has spent time as a vocal coach and now works as a soloist and studio vocalist. Her song “Born to Stand” was earlier this year on all streaming platforms.

As much as Tiffany loved her time on the road, her favorite gig has been as the wife to her Idaho boy Shane and the mother to their five amazing children. She started homeschooling them this last year and has found so much joy in having more time with her children.

Tiffany finds joy in being a follower of Jesus Christ, a wife, mother, musician, freedom-fighter and truth seeker.

Tiffany and her husband Shane are no strangers to miracles and have endured some terrifying life-threatening experiences. Tiffany knows that our Savior has been with her every step of the way and is especially grateful for the closeness she feels to Him as a result of her trials. She feels her mission in life is to help prepare the world for the Savior’s Second Coming and she is grateful to get to share her love for Him every chance she can get.

Title: But If Not

Description: King Nebuchadnezzar kidnapped the best and brightest youth when he invaded Jerusalem. Among those were three young boys named Meshack, Shadrack, and Abednego. They refused to worship the idol that the king had set up and as a result, were ordered to be thrown into a fiery furnace. These brave young men were not afraid and testified to the king that their God had power to deliver them... and then followed that testimony with some of the most courageous three words in all of scripture: "but if not." "But if not, be it known unto thee, O King, that we will not serve thy gods, not worship the golden image which thou hast set up," (Daniel 3:18). Their faith was not contingent on their desired outcome but on the Lord's. They had absolute faith in Heavenly Father and His plan for them. We will all get our "but if nots" in this life and how we learn to handle those moments is where our true faith is born. *I will be speaking about these types of experiences we face in our lives and how we learn to trust in God when our own plans don't work out how we would hope. I will be singing some songs in between.

  • Mari Van Ormer

Mari van Ormer is a mother, blogger, runner, widow, divorcee, and she loves pumpkin cookies… with chocolate chips. After losing her husband when she was just 34, she started a blog called www.clingtocourage.com. Her blog became a source of healing and hope, and it helped her to connect with others who were grieving and who had also experienced loss.

In the beginning of her widowhood journey, Mari tried hard to live by the motto: “Choose Happiness.” She did everything she could to feel happy… including training for and running a marathon. But after the finish line, and as her life and experience with grief and pain through death and then a divorce progressed, she decided to change her life motto to: “Embrace Grace.”

She has learned that healing and feeling joy requires a daily effort, not a one-time finish line event. She believes that when we stay close to our Savior, Jesus Christ, and when we have daily grace for ourselves (and for others), along with gratitude to our Heavenly Father for small and simple things … we can experience extraordinary, beautiful, joyful, and magical moments, even on bad days.

She invites all to cling to courage and Christ, and embrace His Grace, no matter what.

Mari has 5 beautiful children who she loves even more than cookies. She also loves music, photography, teaching gospel doctrine, watching home improvement shows, staring at Christmas twinkle lights, and chasing thunderstorms.

Dave was getting his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Soon they married and together they raised four children, moved coast to coast, and loved life.
