​Calvin R. Stephens retired from teaching for the Church Educational System in 2007 after 37 years. He worked as an instructor in the seminary program, at the Ogden LDS Institute of Religion, and 12 years as a writer and manager for College Curriculum and an instructor at the BYU Jerusalem Center. Brother Stephens graduated from Weber State College and Brigham Young University. He was released from the Church Materials and Evaluation Committee in December 2022. He has served as a mission president, first counselor in a stake presidency, and bishop. He is currently serving as a sealer in the Ogden Temple. Brother Stephens’ father died one month after he and his twin brother turned 4 years old. His mother was left with four small children to raise, aged 1-4 years old. The family moved from Enterprise to Morgan, Utah, where Brother Stephens has lived all his life. He is married to the former Lynette Davis, and they are the parents of 4 children and 9 grandchildren.
