Jared is a Utah native. After high school he spent 2 years in southeast Texas as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He then moved to Connecticut for a short time, where he met Janelle.

Raising their 3 children in West Jordan, Jared was very involved in local government, politics and the community serving as a delegate, on political committees and even running for local and state office. He is on the Board of Directors for WW Ministering Angels, and previously served on the Board for West Jordan Youth Soccer. Jared works full time as an IT Professional and loves finding technical solutions for local businesses that he works with. 

Jared was widowed with 3 children,10 and under, after a mountain biking accident left Janelle in a coma and ultimately took her life in 2018.
