Bruce Allred

Bruce Allred was born in 1959 and spent most of his youth in Lompoc, California, where his father served at Vandenberg Air Force Base. After his mission to England, he earned a degree in cabinet making and woodworking at Utah Technical College in Orem, Utah.

He married Debbie Arndt in the Jordan River Temple in 1982. They are the parents of three children and four grandchildren.

Bruce began his career at Fetzer’s and then Challis Stairways in Sandy, Utah. He moved with his young family to Arizona in 1984 and has built custom staircases all over the Western United States.

His final staircases were built in Nauvoo, Illinois in 2001. Bruce’s second great grandfather, William Moore Allred, helped build the original Nauvoo Temple, and Bruce considers the invitation to help rebuild the temple as one of the highlights of his life.

There were many spiritual experiences as he worked on all four staircases in the temple and studied the Church’s early history while living in Illinois. Bruce and his wife, Debbie, currently serve as ordinance workers in the Gilbert Temple.
