Kent Collins

In August of 2022, Brother Collins lost his wife, Connie, of nearly fifty years to cancer.  They raised three daughters and have four grandchildren.

In 1977, Kent graduated from Weber State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics.  In 1980 he graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University with a juris doctor degree, and has practiced law since then.  He  specializes in tax law, small business representation, estate planning, estate administration, and commercial aircraft financing.  For 12 years he taught Tax Planning for Individuals and Advanced Estate Planning courses at the J. Reuben Clark Law School.  He also taught business law in the Master of Accounting program at the University of Utah.

As a young man, Kent served a mission to Pennsylvania.  While raising his family in Bountiful, Utah, he served in a variety of ward and stake callings.  In 2010, Kent was president of the Indiana Indianapolis Mission, with his late wife Connie, as his companion and mission nurse.  Following that service, Kent served as president of the Ogden Utah Stake.  He currently serves as Stake Missionary Preparation Instructor, Ward Gospel Doctrine Instructor, and as an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple.
