Todd Paxman

Todd M. Paxman

Todd lost his wife to depression in 2009, and found this group on Facebook shortly thereafter. He drove from Southern California to attend the first in-person conference in Layton, and has been an active participant ever since. After 15 years his youngest has left home and he moved to Southeast Idaho where he currently resides (Soda Springs).

Todd has spent many years of study and effort to become a recognized expert in environmental engineering and air quality compliance. However, he has always considered his career secondary to his much more important responsibility of raising a family. When his wife Natalie died, he was left with four children ages 5-11 (the youngest not yet in school). He has made many sacrifices in his attempts to be a good father, but is the first to admit that effort does not always equal success. Todd is eager to discuss how we can (sometimes) overcome our real-world experience that life often seems to match the observation of Robert (Rabbie) Burns:

The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men

    Gang aft a-gley,

An’lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain,

    For promised joy.
